2.5% rise for settlements

In April, pay settlement rises continued to match the rise in the cost of living, the latest figures show.

The 2.5% three-month median (midpoint figure) derived from the Labour Research Department’s Payline database of collective agreements matched the April rise in retail price inflation. That means for the time being living standards are not, on average, being cut any further.
