Working families

City firms dominate the latest annual list of Top Employers for Working Families at a major event to launch National Work-Life Week.

Now in its fifth year, the Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark continues to provide employers with comprehensive and detailed insights into their flexible working and work-life integration policies and practices, giving them the opportunity to see how they measure up against other organisations.

To enter, employers must complete a detailed benchmark survey on their work-life and flexible working policies and practices.

There is no particular ranking for the top 10, which is given alphabetically, but City firms take six of the top spots, with finance group American Express, banks Barclays and Citi, along with business services groups Deloitte, EY and KPMG.

The London School of Economics and Political Science, part of London University, makes the top 10 while the University of Portsmouth is ranked in the top 11-30. Other public sector organisations in the 11-30 group are the Ministry of Justice, the Bank of England and the National Assembly for Wales.

The September issue of Workplace Report features the best parental and leave deals from the Labour Research Department’s Payline database of collective agreements.
