Childcare back-up on offer

Help for working parents when childcare arrangements break down is being promoted by childcare charity Daycare Trust.

Under the "Back-up Care" scheme employers can help parents through childcare crises by purchasing days at a back-up nursery to enable parents to carry on working without worry.

Employers estimate that they can save £2 for every £1 they spend on back-up care through reduced costs from absence and better productivity.

A free booklet on the scheme is available from Daycare Trust, 21 St George's Road, London, SE1 6ES, tel: 020 7840 3350.
