Gay politics

Information on all the political parties' policies on lesbian and gay issues, as well as candidates' voting records and views, can be found on a website set up for the general election.

The site, supported by public services union UNISON and gay newspaper The Pink Paper, also includes an online petition, which will be sent to the prime minister after the election. It demands that equality reforms are implemented at the earliest opportunity, including the immediate repeal of Section 28 in England and Wales.

The petition also calls for fast track domestic legislation to implement the European Union Employment Directive protecting lesbians and gay men from discrimination in employment. The site is at: www.thegayvote.co.uk
