Trades Councils win
Delegates rejected the advice of the platform and voted decisively for trades union councils to be given the right to submit a motion to the annual TUC Congress.
Bob Crow, moving the motion on behalf of the transport union RMT, said it would give a greater voice to local trade unionists, who were the “unsung heroes” of the trade union movement.
