Ineos

On 28 October, after accepting a plan to keep the Ineos petrochemical plant in Grangemouth open, the Unite union confirmed that senior shop steward Stevie Deans had resigned as an Ineos employee after 25 years.

Unite said Deans wrote in his resignation letter that management had treated him as the “enemy within”. Without diminishing its commitment to the survival plan, the union said it would consider what steps can be taken on Deans’ behalf.
