Welfare campaign

Public services union UNISON is supporting the WOW disability campaign and petition calling for an end to the ”war on welfare”.

This demands that the government measures the impact of its welfare reforms and “a new deal” for sick and disabled people and their families and carers, based on their needs, abilities and ambitions.

Meanwhile, delegates to the recent disability conference of the CWU communications union called for active support for groups campaigning for the repeal of the bedroom tax, and the replacement of Atos — the work test assessor and disability benefit adviser employed by the government.
