Vicarious liability

The cases of Cox v Ministry of Justice [2016] UKSC 10 and Mr A M Mohamud (in substitution for Mr A Mohamud, deceased) v WM Morrison Supermarkets plc [2016] UKSC 11 both examined vicarious liability. This is where an employer can be liable for the acts or omissions of its employees.

The two cases should be considered together and are analysed in the March 2016 issue of Labour Research’s sister publication, Workplace Report (pages 9-10).
