Disability code

The Disability Rights Commission has published a new code of practice offering legal guidance on the provision of goods and services for disabled people. It advises on both existing duties to disabled customers and new duties which will come into force in October 2004, but which should be prepared for now. The new duties will require service providers to make "reasonable adjustments" to their premises to ensure they are accessible to disabled customers.

The code is available on the DRC website at www.drc-gb.org.
