NI labour relations

In its latest annual report the Labour Relations Agency, the advisory and conciliation agency for Northern Ireland, reveals that it dealt with more than 5,000 applications for individual conciliation in 2001-02. Unfair dismissal accounted for more than one in three claims, with claims regarding underpayment and breaches of contract making up a further third. Complaints regarding religious or political discrimination showed a small fall, from 586 claims in 2000-01 to 548 in 2001-02.
