PCS attacks imposed deal

Civil service union PCS has attacked the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for imposing a 2.6% pay deal on its 90,000 admin workers. PCS is angry that the DWP announcement came only four days before the result of a ballot on the pay offer.

The union described the increase as the worst in the last 10 years and is angry that the settlement includes a bonus scheme which penalises those who take more time off work through paternity, maternity or other special leave.
