Nickel is top cause of skin problems

One in eight cases of work-related contact dermatitis may be caused by nickel exposure, according to a new study. Researchers found that hairdressers suffered the most cases, followed by bar staff, chefs and cooks and checkout operators. Women were three times more likely than men to be affected by nickel sensitivity, with the highest rate among women aged 16-30.
