New TUC head for Midlands

The TUC has appointed its former race equality officer Roger McKenzie as regional secretary for the Midlands. He will be the first black regional secretary in the history of the TUC.

TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said he would be "a strong voice for working people in the region" adding: "I'm pleased that we've been able to break through this particular glass ceiling."
