New guidance on workplace transport

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published revised guidance on the correct and safe use of vehicles at work.

Workplace transport safety: an employers' guide (HSG136) is primarily aimed at managers and supervisors, but is also useful for safety reps and has been welcomed by unions.

Steve Mann, health and safety officer for the CWU communication workers' union, said the guide enables "those responsible for workplace transport to identify areas of their operations where further help might be required".
