Manual handling victory
A firm has been forced to comply with an improvement notice on manual handling, after losing its tribunal appeal over the case.
The notice, which was served by the Health and Safety Executive on Menzies Aviation (UK) Ltd last May, related to baggage handling at Manchester Airport. The firm will now have to provide belt loader conveyors, or another equally effective method, to assist in the loading and unloading of luggage.
