1.2.01 2,600 final stage of a 2 year agreement with a 3% increase. Voluntary redundancy "early release" scheme continuing but staff being replaced. Workforce set to increase to 4-5,000 over 5 years. Workforce currently 50:50 manuals to staff, balance likely to move towards manuals with the increased workforce numbers.

1.1.01 450 First stage of a 2 year agreement with a 3.33% increase, scales based on 37 hours. Agreed to introduce a profit sharing scheme based on 7.5% of company profit at year end. If rate of inflation above 4% in 2002, further discussions to take place.

1.1.01 350 joint commitment to re-write contract and change working hours by end of first quarter. Bonus is paid as throughput bonus after 17.5 Containers per hour (eg throughput 25 Containers, 7.5% bonus).

1.2.01 14,500 minimum increase 2.7% of the "salary anchor" or £300 whichever is higher to individuals rated at "p" or above. Higher increases for those rated "f" and "r". Minimum salary level £5.00 per hour, £9,100 pa for 35 hour week. Individuals under the salary anchor will have additional increases to bring them to it within 4-6 years for "f" rated performance.

1.1.01 1,000 Changes to bring salary structure more into line with structures elsewhere in the group: introduction of new salary ranges incorporating previous spot salaries at the top. New recruits appointed with the range according to experience. Minimum 5% increase on promotion. Protection for existing staff. An additional day's holiday for staff with 5 years' service. Salary progression based on "individual competence and contribution"; 1% increase from 1 May 2001 to coincide with increased member pension contribution.
