BAA concedes 6% on shift pay and at least £575 on basic

A flat rate rise of £575 or 3.2%, whichever is the greater, has been agreed with effect form 1 April. Pay-related allowances rose by 2.7% but shift pay increased by 6%, conditional on the establishment of a working group to look at ways of streamlining shift rosters. A specific commitment to discuss the implementation of company-wide shift pay arrangements at Southampton Airports was also given, and there is a company profit-related bonus which is expected to yield payments of £700 per employee.
