Probation officers

UNISON members working for the National Probation Service and the 21 outsourced Community Rehabilitation Companies in England and Wales have voted in favour of industrial action over a zero per cent pay offer for 2014. Of those voting, 73% voted for strike action.

The employers “offer” consists of a non-consolidated lump sum ranging from £300 to £385 depending on pay band, but only for the 20% or so of staff at the top of their pay band and, therefore, not in receipt of a pay increment.
