Gathering members into CWU


The CWU communication workers’ union has reached a voluntary recognition agreement with Gather and Gather, a subsidiary of Mitie, which provides staff catering services at Capita’s customer service sites. National officer Sally Bridge described it as “an excellent agreement and one of the first new recognition deals for catering workers for many years”.


Having raised pay by 1.6%, backdated to the beginning of the year, and worked together on an attendance review, the next step will be a CWU recruitment campaign. “And then we’ll start looking at how we’re going to approach the 2016 pay negotiations,” said Bridge.
