Union demands publication of crane accident report

The general Unite union has called on the HSE to publish its initial findings into the case of the fatal crane collapse in Bow, east London, in July.

It says a cloud of suspicion hangs over workers on the site, as well as the company involved. Tower Hamlets council admitted it may take six months before the crane can be fully removed. Unite says the local community must have reassurance that the site and all involved with it are safe. The initial findings are also important in order for the industry to learn lessons and prevent further incidents occurring, says the union.
