Change fleeting after Floyd murder

Nearly half of British workers say their employer’s efforts to improve racial equality in the workplace have already waned despite firm commitments made in the wake of the public outcry over George Floyd’s murder by Minneapolis police two years ago.

A study from market research firm Ipsos found 41% of British workers noticed a change in the way companies handled race-related issues, but 43% said any initial commitments to change didn’t last.

While 30% of workers mentioned some improvements, such as ethnic diversity in the workplace, less than half said their managers were diverse and 47% said that their company was taking steps to address this.
