New asbestos awareness campaign is aimed at young workers
A new HSE campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos among young plumbers, electricians and other tradespeople who began their career after the 1999 asbestos ban. The regulator is concerned that, because of the length of time it takes for symptoms of ill health to develop after asbestos exposure, today’s younger workers may believe it is something that only impacts older people who were working before the ban.
