Improvements for part timers at Argos

The latest deal at retailer Argos (3 April) represented 3.08% on the pay bill. This is made up of 2.3% on basic rates, allowances and supplements; the equalisation of bank holiday payments for delivery assistants and implementation of the part-time worker regulations. Employees on less than 15 hours per week are now entitled to company sick pay, and time off in lieu if they work on a bank holiday. Saturday and Sunday sales assistants and weekend workers now get pro-rata holiday based on entitlement for full timers, reflecting length of service and number of contracted days per week. The cost of this part of the deal was put at 0.7% of the non-management paybill. Weekly location supplements include - £6.84 in the South East, £19.21 in Greater London, £40.60 in Central London and £49.30 in the West End.
