Rehabilitation

The government has launched a research project to test new ways of helping sick workers keep their jobs. The Job Retention and Rehabilitation Pilot, a joint initiative of the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health will run for two years in six pilot areas across the country. An evaluation report will be produced in autumn 2005. It will examine the barriers to people returning to work after sickness absence and try to find ways of overcoming them.
